Why rent a room when you can
rent a river. A short drive from I-5, Highway 138 east,
called the Rouge Umpqua Scenic Byway, Gateway to Crater Lake,
and the “Highway to Waterfalls” our vacation homes offer
spectacular views of the North Umpqua River. Nestled in the
forest, where bald eagles are daily visitors, River Vista
truly is a relaxing vacation experience. The 1000 square foot
home features an open floor plan, high vaulted ceiling, and
private decks. Spacious accommodations, full kitchen, and two
queen beds are ideal for families or romantic getaways. A
private pathway to the North Umpqua River ends at a year-round
fishing hole, and a great swimming hole during the summer.
It’s not unusual to see flying squirrels, mink, birds, water
fowl, jumping steelhead, and the playful otter family. Field
and Stream (Jan 07) writes, “the North Umpqua is flowing water
turned to art; it’s that pretty.” Our small town and the
surrounding area have a lot to offer the traveler. Pamper
yourself, we’ll schedule a massage. For the adventurous, we’ll
book a white water rafting trip. Want to sightsee, take a day
trip, east, to the many spectacular waterfalls and lakes, or
soak away your cares at Tokette Hot Springs. The first miles
of the famous North Umpqua Trail starts here, prefect for the
hikers and bikers. One on the Seven Wonders of the World,
Crater Lake National Park, is 80 miles east. Going west?
When in Roseburg, called the “100 Valleys of the Umpqua,” stop
and enjoy a tasting at the award winning wineries, or tour
Wildlife Safari, on your 80 mile journey to Pacific Ocean. If
you choose to relax and spend the day at River Vista, there is
no need to ruff it; close are nice eateries and a well
equipped country store for your shopping needs.
