Ashland Oregon Parks
Tub
Springs State Wayside
In 1846, a wagon train led by Jesse
Applegate traversed southern Oregon along what became known as
the Applegate Trail. Tub Springs Wayside is one of the
stopping points before you head down the mountain pass into
Ashland. Take a moment to stop here amid the towering fir and
sense what it was like 150 years ago. Breathe in the fresh
mountain air. There's an interpretive panel at the wayside
describing the difficulties faced by these pioneers.
Lithia Park
Season by season, you can witness an
ever-changing display of native, ornamental, and exotic
plant life. Whether you seek to enjoy this Trail for its
plant scenery or for its scientific points of
interest—either way, you'll be well rewarded. The entire Trail runs about one mile and
takes about two hours for a leisurely walk. You can begin or
stop anywhere along its length. As the seasons change, the park changes. New
photos are added to this Web site which capture each feature
at its most beautiful or most interesting. Come back often.
