Unfolding Lives - Discovering Pioneers' Fates

At three historic Oregon City sites, visitors will learn about
the lives of nine emigrants before, during and after their
journey on the Oregon Trail. Sites: End of the Oregon Trail
Interpretive Center (1726 Washington St.), Museum of the
Oregon Territory (211 Tumwater Dr.), Stevens-Crawford House

Riverfest Show
and Shine
June 13-15, 2008 – Elgin
The 2008 Show & Shine has been expanded to include the entire
weekend, starting with a Friday evening cruise-in and
registration at Shucks Auto Supply's parking lot in La Grande.
Saturday's Show & Shine will also feature an automotive swap
meet scheduled for 9 am-3 pm. Both will be held on a large
ball field, 240 North 10th Street in Elgin, with close
proximity to a community park. A Poker walk will be conducted
through downtown Elgin. Elgin Riverfest will also offer an art
show, quilt show, antique engine and tractor show, city wide
yard sales and Fireman's Pancake Breakfast. A free barbeque
for all registered participants will take place at 5:30 PM at
Pioneer Park in La Grande. A "Cruise 4 Cash" in La Grande
finishes out the evening. Non-participants will be welcome to
join for a fee. Starting and ending in La Grande on Sunday,
all participants will have an opportunity to proceed on a
"Poker Cruise 2 View" the Grande Ronde Valley. The route will
take you through the cities of La Grande, Island City, Union,
Cove, Imbler, Summerville & Elgin. Plans are continuing to
make this a great Father's Day weekend event for all who
attend. Mail-in Pre-Registration (per car or 12x12 vendor
space): $15 or after June 7, 2008, $20
