"Mostly Stillwater"
February 20, 2007 -- Bend
Stillwater fly fishing will be the emphasis of this year's Winter Seminar where we are very fortunate to have Phil Rowley join Jack Dennis. Jack and Phil will spend two days unlocking the secrets of fly fishing stillwaters. Lake fishing is often quite different than traditional river and stream fly fishing. As we all know, Central Oregon is filled with excellent stillwater fly fishing opportunities and the techniques these gentlemen have perfected in Western Canada and elsewhere are directly applicable to our local waters. The program will include discussions of food sources, reading stillwater, equipment, tactics, fly tying, fly patterns, and more. A video of stillwater expert Brian Chan discussing his techniques will be shown. There will also be discussions of fishing destinations in Canada and around the world (including some non-stillwater destinations), and more. For complete information, see the latest COF newsletter: http://www.coflyfishers.org/curnewsletter.pdf. 1:30 am. to February 21 5:00 p.m. at Bend.
